Charles Pan-Fried Chicken, on an expansion tear, isn't done opening locations in Harlem.
The legendary restaurant, famous for fried chicken that James Beard Award-nominated chef Charles Gabriel prepares in huge cast-iron skillets, first moved to a new flagship space at 340 W 145th Street and Edgecombe Avenue last year.
It also just opened a takeout spot at 1325 Fifth Avenue between E 111th and E 112th Streets in East Harlem.
Next up is a storefront at 439 W 125th Street between Morningside and Amsterdam Avenues in West Harlem. Its debut was planned for the start of 2023, but is still coming along.
The menu is the same at both existing Harlem locations (and at 72nd Street, which opened in February 2022), offering not just the famous pan-fried chicken but plates of smothered turkey wings and barbecue smoked ribs, plus a long list of Southern sides like cornbread and collard greens.
