These two pop-up markets are returning to Harlem with a batch of new vendors (and some favorites from last year, too)

January 25, 2019

Two vibrant pop-up markets that first surfaced over the holidays are coming back to Harlem this month and the next–and they're bringing new vendors with them. Stop by both to support local creatives and build community–all while stocking up on Valentine's Day gifts and more.

The Harlem Pop-Up Collective

Silvana, 300 W 116th St, Sunday, January 27 11am-5pm

Located downstairs at Silvana, this Sunday market curated by fashion industry alum Sade Akin Boyewa El ran during the holiday season and is now back for three more dates. Stop by this weekend plus February 10 and February 17 to meet a fresh group of vendors bringing their one-of-a-kind clothing, jewelry, beauty items and treats (think brownie chocolate chip cupcakes with raspberry buttercream frosting) to Harlem. There'll be merch by a few favorites from last year, too, including reworked fashion by Eppersonn and handcrafted organic oils from Sipps. (A tip for fans: Expect an exciting announcement from Akin Boyewa El and another local mover and shaker very soon.)

Harlem Makers Collective

Gallery 8 Harlem, 2602 Frederick Douglass Blvd, Friday, February 1 2pm-9m; Saturday February 2 11am-9pm; Sunday, February 3 10am-6pm

After a successful run in December, this three-day event organized by a trio of local creatives–fashion designer Heike Jarick, jewelry designer Maiko Suzuki, and milliner Karema Deodato–is returning to the airy space on Strivers' Row for its second act. Unique products from a rotating group of 24 vendors include custom fashion accessories from Blackbird Dillinger, global textiles from Spirited Cloth, and small-batch spirits from Olde York Farm, to name just a few.
