June is World Pride Month–marking the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots here in New York– and Harlem is joining in on the celebration in a big way. Here are some of the best Pride events to look for uptown:

Museum of the City of New York, 1220 Fifth Ave at 103rd St
Opens Thu, June 6
See Fred W. McDarrah's photos of the Stonewall uprising, plus more seminal moments in the LGBTQ rights movement. The museum is also collaborating with Harlem's Maysles Documentary Center on a special Thursday, June 6 screening of two short films called Portraits of Pride: Stormé, Marsha and Stonewall. First Fridays: Black LGBTQ World Pride Edition
Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, 515 Malcolm X Blvd and W 135th St
Fri, June 7 at 6pm
The Schomburg is hosting a special World Pride edition of its First Fridays dance party in June (dress code: "Fabulous"). Also this month: a screening of the documentary "The New Black" on Tuesday, June 4 and a one-day Pride film festival on June 15. Keep track of the full calendar of events here.

Tour Harlem by foot with neighborhood historian Michael Henry Adams, who will give special emphasis on local LGBTQ people and places this month. Also try a Vogue dance class or a Harlem drag brunch and get a discount when you book two events.
Spill the Tea–Celebrating Pride
Harlem Stage, 150 Convent Ave at W 135th St
Sat, June 15 4pm-8pm
Giving voice to the experience of Southern black gay men, this afternoon program includes discussions and performances by "Sweet Tea" author E. Patrick Johnson as well as the "intergalactic" musical duo known as the Illustrious Blacks.
Harlem Pride 2019 10th Anniversary Celebration Day
12th Avenue at W 135th St
Sat, June 29 noon-6pm
Taking place the day before the mother of all Pride parades downtown, the Harlem Pride street party will take over 12th Avenue between West 135th and West 138th Streets with live entertainment, dancing, food and more.
