Two Mother's Day pop-up events, a free jazz festival, and more fun things to do this weekend

Manny Vega's latest mosaic, "Al Ritmo de la Paz," debuts in East Harlem

Shop for–or with–Mom at two fun pop-ups, spend an afternoon listening to live jazz, and check out the latest mural by East Harlem artist Manny Vega–all this weekend.

La Marqueta, 1590 Park Ave and 115th St

Sat, May 11 at 11am

Visit La Marqueta, East Harlem's community-based market space, this Saturday for a day of crafts, food, and music–Fernandito Ferrer is the special musical guest. While there, be sure to stop by the newest food stall, Amuse Bouche NYC., and try their signature croissant sandwiches and savory cheddar scones. You might recognize them from the Marcus Garvey Farmer's Market.

Bierstrasse, 2346 12th Ave at 133rd St

Sat, May 11 at 2pm

Head to this spacious Harlem beer garden and settle in for an afternoon of free jazz, starting with guitarist Ed Cherry at 2pm and followed by four more acts. See the complete lineup here.

La Galeria del Barrio, 162 1/2 E 104th St between Lexington and Third Aves

Sat, May 11, 3pm-7pm

For the last 69 days, a group of East Harlem artists, neighbors, and cultural organizations have gathered at La Galeria del Barrio to celebrate the neighborhood's historic cultural identity. As the collective's residency draws to a close, it's inviting folks to the unveiling of artist Manny Vega's latest mosaic, "Al Ritmo de la Paz," right outside the gallery. Be sure to stick around for the multicultural jam that will follow.
