The biggest-ever Harlem Restaurant Week kicks off today

Red Rooster in Harlem

The spring edition of Harlem Restaurant Week kicks off today, and the number of participating businesses is bigger than ever.

For the following two weeks (March 1-15), up to 80 restaurants–that's double than last fall–are offering special prix fixe menus and other deals to promote Harlem's growing food scene.

Participating eateries include world-famous destinations like Sylvia's (try the Down Home Fried Chicken for dinner) and hot spots like Red Rooster (Helga's Meatballs are one of the choices for lunch).

Many buzzy new restaurants and cafes are also taking part, including rice bowl destination Fieldtrip, Spanish tapas jewel Gaudir, and ginger juice spot Ginjan Cafe.

Look for $35 prix fixe dinners, $25 prix fixe lunches, under-$10 dishes and under-$25 retail offers.

Check out the full list here–you can browse by neighborhood and cuisine type–and make your plans now.
