Boogie Lab Quietly Unveils New Bakery in Washington Heights Ahead of Bistro and Bar
New bakery and restaurant Boogie Lab is partially open in Washington Heights.
The unique sourdough-bakery-meets-bistro-and-bar, first launched in Zagreb, Croatia, three years ago, quietly opened its bakeshop earlier this month, with the rest coming soon.
The business is located in the old Coogan's space at 4015 Broadway and W 169th Street
"At Boogie, fermentation is the foundation. All of our items are built around a living sourdough culture," reads a sign posted in its window.
Offerings include a range of fresh sourdough breads, focaccia sandwiches, pizzas and pastries like salted caramel pistachio croissants and guava donuts, which can be enjoyed in the large open seating area.
The bistro—during a recent vist it was fully furnished but still roped off—is located on the opposite end of the long space
The cocktail bar, right next to the bakery, currently functions as a spot to enjoy a quick coffee.
