Central Park's north end, which includes the brand new Davis Center at the Harlem Meer, is playing host to a new wellness series this fall.

Rooted, running from September 17 to November 8, features mostly free workshops that address the mind, body and soul.

Classes like "Nature and Mindfulness in Central Park" take place at the Davis Center's new building tucked into the hillside, while "Soul Line Dancing" is at the Charles A. Dana Discovery Center across the meer.

Advanced registration is recommended since space is limited.

The Davis Center's Gathering Space includes picnic benches and restrooms.

The Davis Center's oval turf space, which opened in the spring before transforming into a pool over the summer, will turn directly into an ice rink this November.

The new facility also includes a path along a resurfaced stream leading to the historic Huddlestone Arch and the forest beyond.
