Harlem's Best Pizza: Stay-at-Home Edition

Harlem's best pizza
The Manhattanville pizza at Bar 314.

Harlem's top pizza spots have adapted with the times, and all now offer easy delivery—even 89-year-old Patsy's, which still uses a coal-fired oven—either through a delivery platform or via their own websites.

Here, then, is a list of TCU's favorites, serving up everything from bubbling Neapolitan pies to old-fashioned Grandma squares, and the best way to order.

From south to north:

Patsy's Pizzeria

East Harlem 2287 First Ave between E 117th and E 118th Sts, 212-534-9783

When they say classic they mean it: This East Harlem original has been making thin-crust pizzas in its coal-fired oven since 1933. Adapting with the times, Patsy's is now available for delivery via Uber Eats.

Sottocasa Harlem

Central Harlem 227 Malcolm X Blvd between W 121st and W 122nd Sts, 646-928-4870

Slinging one of Harlem's best Neapolitan pies—made in a wood-fired oven and featuring a chewy, bubbly crust—this pizzeria features 20-plus varieties, all of which can be ordered directly on their website.

Bar 314

Morningside Heights 3143 Broadway between La Salle St and Tiemann Pl, 646-682-7645

This sister restaurant to Babbalucci (see below) offers a long list of creative pies, both red and white (try the Manhattanville with fontina, gorgonzola, spinach, sun-dried tomatoes and chilies). Place an order for delivery via Slice.

Babbalucci

Central Harlem 331 Lenox between W 126th and W 127th Sts, 646-918-6572

Bubbling pizzas straight out of a wood-burning oven in the heart of Harlem. Available for takeout and delivery (call the restaurant directly or order via Slice).

Harlem's Best Pizza: Stay-at-Home Edition

Dado's Pizza

Central Harlem 341 St. Nicholas Ave between W 127th and W 128th Sts

Dado's thin-crust pies are made with dough fermented over a few days to develop flavor. The toppings lean toward the traditional: pepperoni, white, broccoli rabe & sausage, vodka, and, of course, classic cheese.

Uncle Tony's Pizza

Hamilton Heights 1596 Amsterdam between W 138th and W 139th Sts, 212-690-7500

Mix and match your slices—from Sicilian to vegan—and get them delivered straight to your home ($15 minimum per order). You can also feed the whole family with an 18-inch regular pie, a 9-slice Grandma (thin-crust pan pie) or a 9-slice Baker's (48 hour-proofed thick-crust).

Fumo

Hamilton Heights 1600 Amsterdam Ave and W 139th St, 646-692-6657

Crispy, thin-crust pizza with toppings both classic and playful (the Buffalo pizza includes spicy Louisiana-style chicken, blue cheese and mozzarella). Order directly from the website.

Pizza by Lucille's

Central Harlem 26c Macombs Pl between W 150th and W 151st Sts, 646-370-4270

Carefully crafted classic round pies, plus a long list of mouthwatering square pies like the Spicy Uptown Pepperoni and the Broc-Rabe Sausage—all available for delivery via their website.

Bono

Hamilton Heights 3658 Broadway and W 151st St, 646-682-9249

This authentic Italian spot known for its rustic brick-oven pizzas offers delivery via its website.
