The new Gottesman Pool at the Davis Center in Central Park
The new Gottesman Pool, as seen from the Davis Center's green roof, opens on June 27.

Central Park's sparkling new pool at the Davis Center opens this Friday, June 27.

Known as the Gottesman Pool, it replaces the oval turf that was there when the beautiful new facility in the park's north end opened in April.

The Davis Center's main building, which also reopens on Friday, includes lockers, restrooms and rows of picnic benches.

Hours are 11am to 7pm daily, with one break between 3pm and 4pm. Entrance is free.

If you want to check out the pool before opening day, you can take a walk on the path along the building's green roof.

Coming from Harlem? Follow signs for the Davis Center on the path starting on Malcolm X Boulevard/Lenox Avenue and 110th Street.

Other interesting points around the pool include the new walkway along the south end of the Meer and the path by the resurfaced stream leading to the historic Huddlestone Arch.

The Gottesman Pool opens the same day as the rest of the city's outdoor pools.
