After a four year wait, the Davis Center at the Harlem Meer is finally here.

The new year-round facility, which replaces Lasker Rink and Pool in the north end of Central Park, opened to the public on Saturday, April 26.

Tucked into the hillside, the main building features a green roof that makes it blend into the natural landscape. The light-filled indoor space has rows of long picnic benches, plus restrooms and lockers behind a stone wall.

Directly outside is a turf space known as the Harlem Oval that transforms into a swimming pool in the summer and ice rink in the winter; the green remains open in the spring and fall, and includes programming like sunset yoga and hip hop dance classes.

Meant to reconnect Harlem with the park's North Woods, the facility includes a path along a resurfaced stream leading to the historic Huddlestone Arch and the forest beyond.

TCU was invited for a first look on Thursday when last-minute work was still taking place. We returned on Sunday to see how everything turned out. Here's a look.
