The annual holiday parade celebrating the colorful streams of light that decorate Harlem's 125th Street is back to dazzle the neighborhood.
The Harlem Holiday Lights return this week courtesy of the 125th Street Business Improvement District, kicking off with a parade of floats through Harlem on Tuesday, November 18 at 6pm.
This year’s parade theme is “Culture, Community, Connections” headed by Grand Marshals The Apollo and actor and philanthropist Malik Yoba.
Here's how to spend the evening:
Tuesday, November 18 5:15pm-6:15pm
Plaza in front of the Lenfest Center for the Arts, 615 W 129 St between Broadway and 12th Ave
Columbia University's annual winter tree lighting ceremony in Manhattanville includes live music and refreshments.
Tuesday, November 18; parade kicks off at 6pm from 125th St and Broadway
Route includes 125th Street, Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard, Malcolm X Boulevard and Marcus Garvey Park
Join one of the dozens of watch areas along the parade route to watch 20-plus floats from various community organizations and sponsors make their way through Harlem. Many watch areas feature store discounts, live entertainment, food and drink samples, and giveaways (see the full map here).
