Due to the pandemic, the normal start of the pool season in late June came and went with all city pools remaining closed.
But now the city has decided to allow 15 New York City pools to reopen, and three of them are in Harlem.
One, Wagner Pool, an intermediate-sized pool on E 124th Street between First and Second Avenues, will open on July 24.
The other two, Jackie Robinson, an Olympic-sized pool at Bradhurst Avenue and W 146th Street, and Marcus Garvey at 124th Street and Fifth Avenue, will open on August 1.
Social-distancing rules will be in place. Spacing will be enforced for those in line to enter, and pool-goers will have to wear face coverings when not in the pool.
Last year Wagner got a "cool pool" makeover including a fresh coat of paint, pop-art graphics, plus new plantings, furniture and umbrellas.
