In a summer where everything has moved outdoors, live al fresco jazz in Harlem is becoming a thing.
A growing number of restaurants and music organizations are now offering free outdoor concerts—with social distancing rules in place, of course.
Here are four scheduled for this weekend (and in some cases, every summer weekend after that), weather permitting.
Harlem Late Night Jazz: Jazz at Sunset
Sugar Hill Highbridge Park, W 155th St between St. Nicholas Ave and St. Nicholas Pl
Saturday, July 25 6pm-9pm
This new jazz series on the southern tip of Highbridge Park kicks off this Saturday night. Bring your chair and refreshments and enjoy the sounds of Patience Higgins' Sugar Hill Quartet.
Sugar Hill Jazz Series at L'Artista

Sunday, July 26 5pm
Italian restaurant L'Artista is hosting a free live jazz concert this Sunday in the spacious public plaza, named after local jazz crooner Johnny Hartman, right out front. (Updated 5/5: the concerts have moved to the restaurant's patio.)
Live jazz on the patio at The Grange
Hamilton Heights 1635 Amsterdam Ave at W 141st St
Sunday, July 26 6pm-9pm
Sam Taylor and guests jam every Sunday night at this farm-to-table eatery featuring a newly expanded sidewalk cafe.
Live jazz on the deck at The Craftsman
Morningside Heights 3155 Broadway between La Salle St and Tiemann Pl
Sunday, July 26 at 7pm
Sip on an icy frosé (and nibble on some food, because Governor Cuomo said so) while enjoying live jazz from this festively lit deck on Broadway. (Updated 5/5: this live jazz series is on break for a few weeks.)
