See the 11 Proposed New Public EV Charger Locations in Washington Heights—and Share Your Feedback by September 30
Washington Heights is one of ten select New York City neighborhoods getting new public EV chargers over the next three years.
As part of the Department of Transportation's recently announced expansion, the neighborhood will be getting a share of the 600 new curbside charging points coming to the city.
The 11 potential charger locations in Washington Heights extend from W 160th Street to W 190th Street; those with popular feedback will be "carefully considered," according to the DOT.
Like the other NYC neighborhoods included in the expansion, Washington Heights has been chosen for reasons such as heavy residential density, limited off-street parking, and a heavy concentration of TLC-licensed drivers.
The area currently has only one public charging station.
All the proposed locations can be found on an interactive map where people are encouraged to leave their comments by September 30.
