Uptown's premier track and field space is now home to the Swoosh.
The Armory Track in Washington Heights—called one of the fastest tracks in the world—just announced a new partnership with Nike, including a renaming: the Nike Track & Field Center at The Armory.
The sportswear company says it will use the collaboration with the track, a multigenerational space for meets, local programs and after school activities, to help increase access to running in the NYC community.
First up is hosting the Nike Indoor Nationals, awash with future Olympians, in March.
In the meantime, mere mortals are welcome: Adult season passes for those who live in the neighborhood (zip codes 10032, 10033, 10034, and 10040) are half off: $137.50; those under 18 pay $100
