West Harlem group plans massive clean-up event on October 24 (and still needs your help)

Updated: Oct 24, 2020

A new Harlem group is planning a massive three-hour clean-up event and seeks the community's help.

West Harlem Team Up to Clean Up is inviting neighbors to adopt their blocks and help clean up a 45-block stretch of West Harlem—from 110th to 155th Streets and Frederick Douglass Boulevard to the Hudson River—on October 24 from 10am to 1pm.

The event is hosted by Community Board 9, Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer and supported by local block associations, businesses and organizations.

Register to adopt your block—the last day is this Wednesday, October 14—and you'll be provided with a free clean-up kit that includes tools, garbage bags and PPE such as masks.

Or join an existing group by registering any time up until the actual clean-up day.
