A free smart restroom designed by Throne in Washington Heights. New York City is testing new free public restrooms throughout the five boroughs, and a few just landed in Upper Manhattan. The smart toilets, made by Throne Labs, were recently installed in public plazas in Harlem and Washington Heights and are open between 7am and 10pm. Users can access them via text message, QR code, the Throne Bathroom Network app, or tap cards that are available from nearby community partners
