Hamilton Heights is losing one of its favorite restaurants.
The Grange, which opened as a farm-to-table spot in 2013 and became a popular destination for elevated cocktails, dinner, and brunch, is shutting its doors for good this week, according to a message posted on Instagram last night.
"We have come to the very difficult decision to close The Grange this week," said the note, which was signed by the owners. "We’ve exhausted all our efforts to recover from the pandemic, and unfortunately have not rebounded."
Located on the corner of Amsterdam Avenue and W 141st Street, the restaurant was named after founding father Alexander Hamilton's historic home, which is just around the corner.
The restaurant's fans on Instagram quickly flooded its account with messages of shock and support.
"This is devastating, thanks for the memories," said one.
"Omg! This comes as such a shock! THANK YOU for being the Cheers of Hamilton Heights!," wrote another.
The last dinner service will be tonight, Tuesday October 18, and the bar will remain open through Wednesday, October 19.
